The Architecture of Fashion: Saint Laurent’s Iconic Boutiques

By RADIAL STAFF

When Hedi Slimane took over the art direction and design at Yves Saint Laurent, not only did he controversially change the name (dropping the Yves from the Ready to Wear collection), but he single handedly changed the image of the brand. The redesign of the retail stores was huge, and with Slimane now doing his thing at Celine, we wanted to take a look at a few of the iconic boutiques he designed.

What we love about the stores is the sleek, clean look which features large marble slabs, lots of glass, mirrors, black leather and chrome, and it almost creates a sort of invisible canvas against which the clothes, which still today carry Hedi’s signature rock n roll styling, stand out.

Here are some of the images of Saint Laurent boutiques around the world.
